Dr Kay Guccione (University of Glasgow, UK), Dr Sian Vaughan (Birmingham City University, UK), Tasha Kitano (Queensland University of Technology, Australia) and Prof. Rachel Spronken-Smith (University of Otago, New Zealand/Aotearoa) host a monthly reading group on Zoom, especially for the research supervisor developer community.
Who is this for? It's a reading group for people who develop Research Supervisors and cultures of good supervision e.g. Researcher Developers, Academic Developers, PGR Directors and Deans, and Grad School Managers.
Is it for Supervisors: Not exactly, unless you have a remit for developing other supervisors. Sorry, we know it's meta!
Each month we invite a different host from the community to select a paper, article, book chapter, policy, or resource to discuss. Papers are provided in advance and we request that participants give them a good skim read before joining the discussion.
We run the sessions in duplicate, at a UK-centric time (Kay and Sian) and an Australia-centric time (Tasha) to try to create convenience for our global participants.

Our intention for the group is to host a collegial meetings of the supervisor development community across disciplines and role types, and to support each other to engage with the literature regularly. Our meetings have been consciously designed to be developmental, appreciative, and cooperative.
