West Cornwall / Lizard Area Slow Swim Holiday

Self-drive holiday in West Cornwall / Lizard. We're running our slow swimming, midweek (world class!) swimming holidays in West Cornwall. We're suggesting that you stay at the Tremorvu Campsite, just outside of Praa Sands or try glamping at Foxglove Field...HOWEVER, there is no requirement to camp (FIND ALTERNATIVES HERE). The campsite is situated in the quiet, rural countryside, with distant views of Poldhu Beach and the Lizard. We picked this campsite after a number of site visits, for it's stunning location, value for money and it's perfect position. In terms of driving time you're : 

* We typically pick an area where we can offer 2 swims and reduce driving time. The first swim of the day is generally timed to avoid traffic and allows us to park up for the day and not have to worry about the potential issue of parking. We'll then choose a great local option for lunch. 

*For this holiday, we also give you the '5 Day option'. The same quantity of swims, over a 5 day period, rather than 3. Starting on the Tuesday. This gives you more recovery time and time to explore Cornwall. It may also suit swimmers, planning on staying in Cornwall for an entire week.

15-20 mins away from the Helford - and a number of glorious swimming options 

15-20 mins away from north/central Lizard Peninsula - and world class swims like Kynance Cove, Church Cove, Cadgwith, Polurrian...

15 mins to the south coast of West Cornwall - epic swims like Prussia Cove, Porthleven, 3 Bears Caves...

20 mins to St Michael's Mount and Penzance

15-20 mins to Hayle and St Ives - swims like Carbis Bay, St Ives 'Island', swims to Porthminster... 

For us, this is the perfect location to base a swimming holiday. For 2023 we're offering recession busting deals! There is no requirement to book at the campsite and you can make alternative arrangements but this is where we'll typically meet pre/post-swim and it offers a really friendly, social element to the holiday. 

(JUNE 10-12) Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon. The first at 9.30am on the Tuesday and then again after lunch. We'll organise a group dinner on the Weds night. Self-drive or you can car share once settled in at the campsite. 5 swims over the 3 days. Swims are always based on the days conditions, for both your safety and enjoyment. £139 (reduced rates available for members).

Foxglove Field a smaller, more intimate site, in a similar location. 

CONDITIONS AND SUITABILITY

We rarely have 'set' swims, we'll base all of the holidays swims on the conditions, for your safety and enjoyment. Swims are typically 1-2km (we'll often vary the distance, depending on the group), as well as offering extra distance to some swimmers who'd like to go a little further. In terms of speed, people that book tend to be the middle lane swimmers of your typical public session...from the slowest in the lane to the fastest. We sometimes have quicker and slower swimmers, which is absolutely fine (we'll simply split up the safety team). For this time of year you can expect water temperatures of 14 - 17 degrees. For us it's more about being able to complete the distances required. We field a lot of emails and calls every year from nervous swimmers. As a business our first thought is always safety. We have an extremely experienced water safety team and will also pick the safest swims available.
