Lantic Bay Double
A first for Sea Swim Cornwall! We're travelling way out of west Cornwall and visiting Lantic Bay.
*I want to make this very clear, the bay faces directly south. If there was a decent south wind and/or swell, we'd have to cancel. We'll more than likely put on an alternative but we'd have to move across to somewhere like Porthpean or across to the north coast and somewhere like Mother Ivey's Bay.
Swim starts on the beach at 09.45am. We've gone nice and early to ensure sufficient parking (National Trust PL23 1NP / What3Words ///ruffling.worlds.firelight). From the car park there's a coastal path down to the beach. Walk is around 1km and get a little steep and slightly uneven, towards the bottom of the path. There are no facilities on the beach, so ensure you take some refreshments and a couple of layers...sunblock, if it's sunny.
We'll take on a longer swim first thing, have a nice social break and then complete a shorter route towards lunch, swimming both east and west, if possible.
We will have a couple of people on water safety, so there's no major problem if everyone doesn't swim at the same pace.
