Slow, Short & Social Swim Holiday

This swimming holiday is specifically set up for swimmers that prefer to have a leisurely, social dip. Covering distances of basically 0-700m...depending on the swimmer.

We'll put on a series of stunning, short swims for swimmers that prefer scenery, shorter distance dips/swims... head up breaststroke, slow front crawl or a combination of the two.

Swims, for example, could include a swim through Mousehole harbour or a swim from the beach at Marazion, swims in front of St Michael's Mount, Porthcurno, Kynance Cove, Cadgwith/Devil's Frying Pan, Carbis Bay... Swims that people may not attempt by themselves but are still within their comfort zone.

With 7 swims to choose from, you can pick and choose the swims you participate in or swim all 7!

Once we've seen an accurate forecast 2-3 days prior to the holiday, we'll email out the itinerary. Swimmers can then choose which swims they'd like to do or simply do all of them...

All swims are based on the tides and forecast/conditions. We'll plan nice flat swims, for both your safety and enjoyment.

The main features of this trip are as follows :

• highly social trip, with stops for coffee, cake, dinner/lunch out...the 'essentials'.
• the holiday comes at a lower price point, at just £109.
• shorter swims and dips from 0 to 700m
• swim for as long as you like, with no emphasis on distance swimming
• we'll go for more accessible swim locations (provided the conditions allow...)
• focusing on the most beautiful swims the conditions will allow
• in the instance of poor conditions, we may make private lido or lake booking in the local area
• same self-drive formula, as our current holidays
• we often encourage car sharing, once in Cornwall

We're happy to advise swimmers on where to book accommodation, across a range of budgets. We'd strongly advise that swimmers book their accommodation around the Penzance, Praa Sands, Porthleven, Helston areas.

This is a self-drive holiday. We encourage car sharing, which can be arranged on the first day.

Approx. timetable :

2-3 dips on Fri (depending on conditions), starting at 10am, finishing 4pm.

2-3 dips on Sat (depending on conditions), starting at 10am, finishing 4pm.

1 final swim Sun morning.

PARTICIPATION : generally attended by 70-75% women, 20-25% men for this type of holiday. Staffing tends to be 66.6% male, 33.3% female. Age groups tend to be dominated by 35-65 years. We also get people from around 20 years old to our oldest holidays attendee at around 75 years. It's normal for some swimmers to be quite nervous about participating, we get a lot of emails and phone calls. Just remember that swims are based on the conditions...particularly with our slow swimming activity, so you'll likely be swimming in flat, calm conditions.
