Gannel Estuary Swim (Private Booking)

Swim up the river Gannel and back. High tide at 17.03...so you need to be on the beach and ready to go at 16.55 at the very latest. If you turn up late we will have to leave without you and you'll be swimming at your own risk. You can park in the National Trust car park, walk to the back of the car park (beach/sand dune end) and turn right, you then follow the path/lane to the beach and we'll meet you on the corner. 

*If we have excess demand, we'll add additional places. Just add yourself to the waiting list. 

This is a swim designed for front crawl swimmers of all abilities. Think middle-ish lane of your typical public swimming pool session. If you're a little faster that's fine. You'll just have to double back from time to time or take a break. 

You'll go up the river, with a slight current and then swim back on the slack tide, you may get a little bit of current towards the end of the swim.

We'd suggest that you bring a tow float but it's not compulsory. This is a safe swim but you get a lot of SUP activity and other swimmers, so a tow float will make it easy to identify you. This is a group swim. If you're a little quicker than the group that's fine, simply swim ahead and double back.
