Big River 10k Day Big River 10k Day - June 20 2020. Approx start time 2.30-3pm

The Big River 10k Day is specifically designed for the intermediate to advanced open water swimmer.

Join us for an epic clear water swim with the tide in the River Fal Estuary from St Mawes to St. Just in Roseland linking two historic ports .

The event involves back to back 5K swims in one of the most beautiful and historic locations you will ever swim. Starting from Tavern Beach we will swim around the cannons on Castle Point following the coast and tide to St. Just Pool and finish the first 5K leg in front of the stunning palm trees and 12thcentury church. Here we will have a refuel and then, as the tide turns, we will race home to St. Mawes completing an awesome 10K Big River Day.

The Big River Day is designed with the intermediate to advanced open water swimmer in mind. Two tough 5K legs and the tide will help for a while but you will have to make the time cut off times before it turns. For safety reasons, therefore, we are limiting the number of entrants and we insist each swimmer must be able to swim 2K inside 45 minutes (either in the pool or open water) and use a tow float. As this is our first Big River Day we will have male and female awards for the 1st to complete the initial 5K leg and again 1st across the line for the 10K finish. A tow float will be required for this swim, as the odd boat does park up near the swim. We strongly advise that you check out our friends at Swim Secure

If you need a challenge, enjoy open water swimming in beautiful surroundings and want to have a go at Cornwall’s first Big River Day Tom and Jo will see you In June 2020.
