Slow Swimming...Swimming Holiday 2024

For this holiday we'd recommend staying at Tremorvu Campsite (TR13 9TA) or Foxglove Field Camping (details of both at the bottom of page). If you're not a fan of camping there's no requirement to camp. We'd suggest staying around the Helston/Porthleven area. This is a self-drive holiday. Whilst we encourage car sharing over the weekend, you'll still need access to a car. 

From the Tremorvu Campsite area you're within a short driving distance of the following areas : 

15-20 mins away from Falmouth - and swims like Swanpool, Gyllyngvase Beach, Maenporth...

15-20 mins away from the Helford - and a number of glorious swimming options

15-20 mins away from north/central Lizard Peninsula - and world class swims like Kynance Cove, Church Cove, Cadgwith, Polurrian...

15 mins to the south coast of West Cornwall - epic swims like Prussia Cove, Porthleven, 3 Bears Caves...

20 mins to St Michael's Mount and Penzance

15-20 mins to Hayle and St Ives - swims like Carbis Bay, St Ives 'Island', swims to Porthminster... 

We've also aimed this holiday at the slow and steady crowd. With this holiday we've simply chosen a great time of year to visit...just before the school holidays and gone 'off-peak'. Cornwall will be nice and quiet, the water will have adequately warmed up and we'll simply offer the same old world class swims that we normally do and marginally shorter distances than we normally would. We get really busy in the summer on the weekends, so we've simply chosen a quieter time of the week and offered a substantial discount.  

Swims will take place on the Tuesday (any time approx. 5pm depending on conditions), 3 swims on the Wednesday (with the option of a group dinner) and 1 swim on the Thursday morning. Swims will be appox. 800-1500m in length. As with all of our holidays, we simply ask that you can comfortably cover that distance. Speed isn't really an issue (particularly on this holiday). If you have any concerns please contact us direct. 

Participants will be emailed approx 2-3 days before the date of the holiday with exact times and locations for the swims. We do this as we can view an accurate forecast and plan the most spectacular (and safe) swims possible. 

For this swim we advise you to book accommodation in the Helston area...obviously you can book accommodation further afield, it'll just require more travel. We're happy to hand out advise for accommodation on request. 

With this holiday taking place midweek, you could also spend the rest of the week exploring Cornwall. With facilities like the Tate and Exchange Galleries on St Ives/Penzance...as well as the Jubilee Pool Lido etc on your doorstep. 

Tremorvu Campsite

A quiet, family orientated campsite. Better suited for either singles or groups. "Tremorvu is a beautiful glamping and camping retreat in West Cornwall... Located in between Praa Sands and Porthleven, the site sits in seven acres of stunning countryside nestled at the foot of Tregonning Hill. Bordered by Cornish hedges filled with wildflowers and wildlife, foxes, badgers, rabbits, buzzards, owls and swallows are regular visitors.

Foxglove Field Campsite

Better suited for any couples or close friends looking for a quiet, comfortable glamping experience. "In our picturesque field, we have bell tents with double beds and comfy mattresses, ideal for a romantic stay or getaway with friends. All our tents are lit by solar fairy lights, with 100% cotton bedding provided".
