Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We would like to share information regarding our ongoing online parent training series targeted to support families and parents. Please see the information below.
We are delighted to invite you to The Seedling Model- Online Parent Training Series of 2025/2026, which has been created by the Childrens Natural Environment Assessment Practice. This online series has been designed to provide guidance and professional support. These 90-minute zoom sessions are led by experienced multidisciplinary team members and will offer evidence-based approaches to support families, parents and children.
This session will explore somatic expression and the mind–body communication system that helps us notice and understand our body’s signals. We will look at simple ways to support yourself through gentle somatic awareness and care. Drawing from her background in counselling and psychotherapy, Rachael will share information and practices from a Trauma Informed approach.

Overview
This session aims to deepen understanding of how the body communicates through sensation, posture, and emotional cues. Drawing on the work of Gabor Maté and other leading somatic teachers, we will explore how early experiences shape our internal landscape and how the body often speaks what the mind has not yet put into words.
There will be no pressure to participate, but we will gently introduce a few somatic awareness techniques. These practices are offered as optional invitations, supporting those who wish to take part and explore simple ways of responding to our systems with conscious care and consideration.
Together through this session we will explore:
• What somatic expression is and why it is important for understanding overall wellbeing.
• How the mind and body share information through subtle signals.
• Practical ways to observe, interpret, and support the body’s messages
• Gentle somatic tools that can be integrated into daily routines for grounding and regulation
Participants will leave with simple, accessible practices to enhance mind–body awareness and support emotional wellbeing.
