We are delighted to invite you to the launch of Sense Ability - a space designed for deep listening, embodied presence, and connection - a sanctuary within the city where stillness, sound, scent, and reflection converge, offering a richer awareness of ourselves, the environment, and the world around us.

The evening begins with scent scape facilitation with foraged plants, gently opening perception and grounding the body. This flows into a short mindfulness and stillness practice, allowing participants to settle into the space and their own sensory awareness.

From stillness, sound emerges. Beginning with a performance from Garwyn Linnell and NYX drawing listeners into resonance, weaving texture and vibration through sound.

NYX will be bringing her vocal artistry, blending choral, experimental, and somatic influences inviting you into a space of connection, presence, and transformation.

Garwyn Linnell, cellist, sound healer, and somatic practitioner, grounds the space in connection to the body, the plant world, and the rhythms of the land. His work integrates sound and wellness practices informed by Celtic philosophies, guiding participants toward alignment, authenticity, and contemplative engagement with their surroundings.

The launch marks the beginning of a project that seeks to reimagine urban life, foster meaningful connection, and return to the senses as a foundation for awareness, culture, and wellbeing, a space where listening, sensing, and being are practices that nurture both the self and the city we inhabit.

Out of sound, we return briefly to stillness, before the formal introduction and launch of Sense Ability - an invitation to experience the world through heightened sensory presence and embodied awareness.

Please arrive on time and be prepared for moments of silence.

Musicians:

NYX

Working under the name NYX, Sian O’Gorman composes and performs immersive vocal music and leads spaces for embodied listening and sounding. NYX is both her personal artist name and the collective she directs - an evolving community of vocalists and electronic artists exploring the voice as a site of connection and transformation.

Drawing on operatic and choral traditions, experimental sound design, psychoacoustics and somatic practice, NYX creates layered sonic landscapes that move between stillness and intensity, ritual and play. At the heart of the work is a commitment to care, collaboration and the transformative potential of collective sound as a way of re-rooting into presence.
