Kinship Workshop: Connection to Nature through Embodied Practice

Kinship Workshop invites participants into experiential, embodied and ever-deepening relationship to nature, landscape and other species through grounding physical practices. Participants are guided through simple activities to tune into being outside, how we sense and how we move through and relate to landscapes. (kinshipworkshop.info/about/)
In this one-day workshop you will:
- Learn some key nature connection practices
- Explore embodiment and nervous system regulation in green spaces
- Deepen awareness of more-than-human life and how to develop kinship with others
- Explore community skills to support your nature connection practice
- Do you want a deeper connection to green spaces in the city?
- Do you want to learn how to slow down in a fast-paced urban life?
- Are you looking to explore connection to other humans and non-human animals and life?

Location: exact location will be sent to you once you confirm your participation via booking a ticket
What you will need:
- Warm and comfortable clothing that allows for moving outdoors (hat and gloves recommended), waterproof jacket and trousers (for moving over damp ground and surfaces), footwear suitable for uneven and wet surfaces
- Packed lunch, 1 litre minimum filled water bottle
- Something to sit on (sit pad/ plastic bag etc.)
- A time piece (a watch is ideal)
ACCESS:
During the day, we’ll be travelling on foot to/from local green spaces using tarmac, gravel and earth tracks as well as going off track completely. There will also be a possibility to make adaptations to include various access requirements, but please get in touch with particular needs before the workshop (contact details available after booking). We will walk between several sites, walking up to about 15-30 minutes at a time. Public toilets are available.

About the facilitator: Katye Coe has been facilitating nature connection work for Kinship Workshop since 2018. She is a dancer, performer and teacher/ lecturer working collaboratively in the UK and internationally (www.katyecoe.org). Katye is a certified Somatic Experiencing practitioner, a Skinner Releasing Technique teacher and has completed 4 years of site and movement work in Helen Poynor’s Walk of Life Programme.
