🥄 What is a Service Jam?

The Puerto Rico Service Jam is part of a worldwide movement where people from all backgrounds come together to learn, collaborate, and design innovative services in just one weekend. Taking place in cities around the world at the same time, Jams foster creativity and teamwork through a shared secret theme, revealed at the start of the event.

Unlike a competition, a Jam is about experimenting, prototyping, and having fun—no previous experience is required! Whether you're a designer, entrepreneur, student, developer, academic, customer, or just curious about problem-solving, this is your chance to dive into the world of service design and innovation.

💡 What to Expect

Friday - Kickoff & Community Building

• Connect with fellow jammers in an interactive get-together session
• The secret theme is revealed—this theme will serve as inspiration for all ideas developed during the Jam.
• Teams form organically based on shared interests or random selection.
• Initial brainstorming begins, setting the stage for an exciting weekend.

Saturday - Ideation & Prototyping

• Teams dive into design thinking and human-centered design methods.
• Conduct quick research, explore insights, and start prototyping service ideas.
• Experiment with sketching, storytelling, role-playing, and mockups to bring ideas to life.
• Get feedback, iterate, and refine your concept.

Sunday - Presentations & Demo

• Finalize your service concept and prepare a short pitch or prototype demo.
• Showcase and upload your team's idea in a fun, collaborative space.
• Celebrate the experience, exchange feedback, and join the global movement of service innovation!
