Irish Set Dancing Course

The classes will be relaxed and informal. Join some of Liverpools finest Irish musicians and dancers for a fun and lively introduction to Irish set dancing

Set dancing is ceili dancings more challenging cousin!
It’s a group Social dance done in sets of 8 people and features Irelands trademark fast music and intricate footwork.
 Over the six week course you will learn the basics of the footwork including some percussive battering steps and structure of the dances. You will also. learn a little bit of history of the music and dance

The cost of the course is £60 per person for 6 x2 hour sessions

The classes will be relaxed and informal and are held in the historic Liverpool cricket club in Aigburth, a bar will be available  throughout the class.

The classes are hosted by dancers from Movema dance company and feature musicians from the Liverpool Ceili Band.

You can come with a partner or on your own, places are strictly limited to 16 dancers.

Please wear comfortable clothing and hard soled shoes if possible.

This class is suitable  for adults of all ages and  teenagers.
