Come celebrate the season with YOUR San Francisco Brass Band in “An SFBB Holiday!” on December 10th at the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto! Under the musical direction of Dr. Jeffrey de Seriere, the SFBB brings an evening of festive favorites, musical surprises, and plenty of holiday brass.
The performance will feature “Santa Claus-Trophobia” by Sandy Smith, a playful medley of familiar Santa Claus tunes, alongside "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly" and "Bring a Torch" by Jack Stamp and “Dancing Dreidel” by Anthony DiLorenzo, bringing together traditional holiday music in fresh and unexpected arrangements.
The band will also perform Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium,” arranged for brass band by Phillip Littlemore. This beautiful and serene work offers a moment of reflection, showcasing the rich, warm sound of the San Francisco Brass Band.
Along the way, join the SFBB for a little Christmas storytelling! “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” and “Christmas Toons,” both by Anthony DiLorenzo, bring a bit of programmatic fun for the youngsters in the audience, and some heartfelt nostalgia for those young at heart. And of course, no holiday concert would be complete without Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride," rounding out a program filled with humor, energy, and holiday spirit.
So gather your friends and family and join the SFBB for an evening of music that celebrates the season in true brass band style!
