A Thousand Years of Song: The Divine Feminine

Sat May 16, 2026 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Rio del Valle, 22103 Vanowen St, Canoga Park, CA, 91303

A Collaboration with the San Fernando Valley Symphony

A Thousand Years of Song: The Divine Feminine takes listeners on a journey through a millennium of music inspired by Mary and the idea of universal compassion. Audiences will hear how the same ancient texts come to life through different composers throughout time in many ways— from the first Gregorian chants of the ancient monks to rich Renaissance harmonies to lush Romanticism, featuring world premiers from Associate Conductor John Bergquist and Artistic Director of San Fernando Valley Symphony, James Domine. With the voices of the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale and the strings of the San Fernando Valley Symphony, this concert offers a deeply moving, accessible reflection on how music across centuries has expressed tenderness, strength, and humanity as inspired by the highest moral standard of compassion, Mary.

Note: the pre-show discussion is cancelled, but please do join us for the concert at 3:00 pm!
