DESIGN AND MAKE A FRINGED SILK METALLIC LINED (DRUM) LAMPSHADE with Shady and the Lamp

Join Master lampshade-maker Sarah O’Dea for an intimate three - four hour class where you will design, make and leave with your very own stunning custom lampshade. Sarah is the renowned designer and maker behind Shady and the Lamp, an interiors studio that has been creating bespoke statement lampshades for Ireland’s A-List for the past twelve years. You’ve probably seen her work lighting up hotspots including Lough Rynn Castle, The Dylan Hotel, Marco Pierre White’s and Haddington House, to name but a few.

The morning class takes place in Dublin 8 at 10am on Friday, August 29th. Places are limited.

Everything you need to make a metallic lined silk fringed 30cm Drum lampshade will be on hand, just bring your creativity and an open mind.

*This size lampshade is most suitable for a medium - large TABLE LAMP. 

Sarah will discuss the impact lighting has on your home or business, the importance of mood lighting when finishing a space, and how to choose the best lighting for your design needs. Suitable for anyone from home beginner design enthusiasts, interior designers, new home owners, renters who want to make a personalized impact on their space and life-long students looking to discover a new skill.

During the workshop you will learn a variety of comprehensive techniques including; handling PVC, applying fabric, attaching ring-sets, understanding glues/ tapes/ tools, creating and tucking neatly rolled edges, trim and chainette fringe application. Sarah will provide step-by-step instructions and by the end of the workshop, you will leave with your very own bespoke lampshade and the skillset to create many more beautiful shades.

Included: Everything you need to make a statement metallic silk fringed 30cm Drum Lampshade is included - You will be able to select your fabric from our solid silk collection where we will have a variety of colours to choose from however, you’re welcome to bring your own fabric if preferred. Medium weight is best. Also available will be a colourful selection of bespoke trims and chainette fringes for you to choose from.
