Celebrating Equinox with Don Manuel Calazacon and his Tsachila family
Mon Mar 21, 2022 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM EDT
Online, Zoom
Description
Join us in a time-honored Tsachila celebration of the sacred Equinox led by Taita Don Manuel Calazacon and his beautiful family. They will light the sacred fire and share their tribal traditional wisdom stories, prayers, songs, powerful music, and dances. This online experience will be broadcast directly from their ancestral land in the Santo Doming de Los Colorados in the Cloud Forest of Ecuador.
The Equinox is a bi-annual solar event celebrated and revered in cultures worldwide. Traditionally, it is a harvest time when we reap spring and summer fruits, celebrate and connect to the earth, ancestors, and spirit, and express our gratitude.
Equinox days and nights are of equal length. It symbolizes the sacred balance, an essential part of all shamanic healing traditions. We continually attempt to restore the balance that brings us stability – between our light and our shadow sides, our feminine and our masculine parts, our desire for growth and our desire for comfort, our individual needs and the needs of our communities, our taking from and giving back to the earth.
The event will start at 5pm Ecuador, 6pm NYC, 22pm UK. A recording of this event will be available for all ticket holders for 30 days.
