Burden of Dreams + Tu soledad esquiva en los hoteles

Bay Area composer/multi-instrumentalist, Nathan Clevenger, presents a double bill of his two new 2026 projects:

Burden of Dreams is a quartet featuring Brett Carson (Hammond organ), Mark Pascucci-Clifford (vibraphone), Jason Levis (drums), and Clevenger (electric bass/compositions). The band's music is dark and dense, drawing from 20th Century classical, doom rock, and jazz. Burden of Dreams has been steadily developing a book of extended pieces and plans to record their debut album this winter.

'Tu soledad esquiva en los hoteles' is a suite of text-based pieces for an improvising electro-acoustic chamber quartet. Performed by Lydia Barrett (voice), Ben Krasner (electronics), Robert Lopez (percussion), and Clevenger (keyboards), and inspired by a poem by Federico Garcia Lorca, the pieces track unmoored narrators in transit and collapse. This is the second performance of the suite and the first in the Bay Area, following a spring premiere in Santa Cruz.
