Sew a Cushion Cover Using Sustainable Sewing Materials is a friendly, creative sewing workshop at the Share and Repair Hub. You’ll learn how to make your own machine- sewn cushion cover from start to finish with fabric sourced from up-cycled sources.
It will include
– Using a paper pattern to cut your fabric
– Pinning and preparing fabric for sewing
– Learning basic machine sewing techniques
– Constructing and finishing a simple cushion cover
– Guidance on using sewing equipment safely and confidently
Freia Groves, who has a background in tailoring and fashion design, will be running the session and will demonstrate techniques and provide hands-on support throughout the workshop, helping participants build confidence while creating a cushion cover to take home.
All materials will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with a little sewing experience who would like to learn basic sewing skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.

A limited number of tickets for those on low income are available, please choose the ticket most appropriate for you.
