Join us for a FREE collaborative session focused on bringing renewable energy and energy efficiency to faith buildings across Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

 This event might also be useful for people with responsibility for community centres.

What is Community Energy?

Community energy is about taking collective action to move away from fossil fuels. Whether it’s generating our own clean power or finding ways to reduce energy use, it’s a grassroots way to reduce our impact on the natural world.

Why Attend?

By bringing together people from across Sheffield’s diverse faith communities, we aim to:

• Lower Costs: Discover how new energy schemes can significantly reduce utility bills.
• Increase Comfort: Learn practical ways to make our historic and modern buildings warmer and more welcoming.
• Connect & Fund: Meet local community energy experts and explore the funding opportunities available to kickstart your project.
• Protect the natural world: Learn how we can better use our building resources to protect the environment and support our neighbours

Venue: Victoria Hall - George Street entrance - Sheffield city centre, S1 2JB

This is a free event, but donations are welcome to help us cover the venue costs.

Agenda:

9.30: Registration and meet and greet

10.00: Welcome 

10.15: Session 1: Places of worship which have already successfully installed solar panels talk about the different pathways that led to success.

11.00: Session 2: A panel of regional bodies offering funding, advice and support outline how they can help Places of Worship to realise their goals.

11.45: Break with tea and biscuits and a chance to browse stalls showing the plans of different faith groups for supporting the environment.

12.15: Session 3 – group discussions

• Which of these pathways feels right for my organisation?
• What problems do we envisage / what needs would have to be met to make this possible?
• What help do we want to ask for from the panel in session 4?
