Volunteer work day: At Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve

Regular volunteer work day – come along for a whole day, or join us for an hour or so!

Practical hands-on conservation work. Tasks vary from footpath improvements and access work, to habitat and vegetation management. All volunteer work days start at 10am and finish at 2pm- make sure you are at the meeting point by 10 am or you might not be able to find us, If you are going to be late let me know as soon as you can!

Gloves, tools, and refreshments are provided, but please wear suitable rough outdoor clothing, including waterproofs, hat, trousers and long sleeves and sturdy footwear, and bring some lunch and water. Please be aware there are no toilet facilities on site.

Please meet at 10am at Shire brook Valley Visitor Center, Stone Lane S13 7BR - please park in the car park and walk down the path to the visitor centre.

Are you 14 to 17 and would like to volunteer on a work day? Please get in touch in advance with us on nature.reserves@wildsheffield.com so that relevant forms are filled in beforehand and the work day is suitable. If you are 14 – 15 you must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If you are 16 – 17 you will need to have a parental consent form.

If you have a caution, unspent conviction or spent conviction that is not defined as protected, as part of our duty of care we have a process that we need to follow before we can decide whether to accept your application to volunteer. Please therefore do NOT sign up via our ticket system but instead contact volunteering@wildsheffield.com to discuss next steps.
