Guided Walk: 'What's buzzin' at Shire Brook Valley Nature Reserve? 6pm Birds and insect guided walk

Join us for a free guided walk of Shire Brook Valley nature reserve, where we will be spotting and recording wildlife from 6pm - 7:15pm.
Discover more about the birds and invertebrates that are flying and darting around the reserve. Maybe you'll spot a peacock butterfly on a flower or a banded demoiselle damselfly near the ponds! We'll be bringing along binoculars to spot birds flying between the trees and recording the species on the bioblitz forms. Maybe you'll spot a blue tit making a nest or a long tailed tit flying between the trees.
We will be listening out for bird song as dusk approaches so this might be an opportunity to find out what you have been hearing in your garden or on your walk to the shops.
Suitable for beginners and experienced insect spotters and birders alike. All ages are welcome to attend. Please wear sturdy footwear and sensible clothing. This is a bookable event with limited spaces available.
We will have activities taking place from 3pm to 9pm, so please come along even if the guided walks are fully booked.
There are several walks available to book. If you’re unable to attend this time slot, there is another walk starting at 4pm, followed by a special moth and bat walk at 7:30pm
There are toilet facilities and seating at the visitor centre and Cherry Blossom Coffee kart will be available for hot drinks and snacks.
We will be recording the data as part of the City Nature Challenge.
