Moths Identification Workshop

Join moth expert Ben Keywood for an evening of moth identification at Greno Woods Nature Reserve.

We’ll begin at the outdoor classroom with an introduction to the major families of larger moths and the key features used to identify them. This will be followed by a short guided walk to explore moth food plants and look for signs of larval feeding in the woodland.

Returning to the classroom, we’ll set up a light trap to attract moths and put our new identification skills into practice. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, as well as discussion around the importance of moths for biodiversity and best practice for recording and monitoring them.

This event is suitable for anyone interested in identifying moths (age 16 years+), no prior knowledge is needed.

Light refreshments and identification guides will be included for all participants.
