Wild Play at Ecclesall Woods: ART IN THE WOODS (Summer Holidays Family Event)

Love playing and exploring outside? Join our nature inspired Nature Art session where we explore, play games and create art using sticks, berries, leaves, clay, you name it! We're also part of the Children's University.

Our WILD PLAY events are perfect for children approximately 3-9 yrs. Younger siblings may attend for free with a paying child but we don't expect them to participate (because the activities are not aimed at their age group). You only need to book a ticket for the participating children, but adults must stay too.

Although we're in the woods, it's best to leave your dogs at home please.

What to expect: The event is 2 hours and is totally outside whatever the weather, so prepare for woodland (muddy) conditions and a small stream crossing. There is a short walk and activities with nature (as a group and individually) at our woodland destination. The woods are not accessible as there are rough paths, off paths and muddy banks at the stream (not recommended for prams, but possible if essential). Do ask us if you want more clarification.

Booking a ticket is essential to attend this event.

Facilities and parking: There are public toilets and a car park at the Discovery Centre. If it is full, we politely ask you NOT to park on any roadside verges on Abbey Lane, please park around the corner on Whirlowdale Road, and walk to the entrance. Allow an extra few minutes for this.
