Wild Play at Greno Woods: MINIBEASTS AND POND CREATURES (revised content from pond dipping)

Love nature and exploring outside? Come and join us at Greno Woods for our MINIBEASTS themed adventure! We will be investigating what weird and wonderful creatures live at Greno, plus activities on our 'Enchanted Obstacles Trail' and the usual games and adventure.  We're also part of the Children's University!

Our WILD PLAY events are perfect for children approximately 3-9 yrs. Younger siblings may attend for free with a paying child but we don't expect them to participate (because the activities are not aimed at their age group). You only need to book a ticket for the participating children, but adults must stay too.

What to expect: The event is 2 hours and is totally outside whatever the weather, so prepare for woodland (muddy) conditions, a short walk, a minibeast hunt, and being around the pond with nets. The woods are not accessible as there are rough paths, a horse friendly barrier and obstacles. Do ask us if you want more clarification. 

REVISED CONTENT: As it has been so very dry and hot, I think our pond at Greno will be too dry to dip in. We will have a look but I think its unlikely. Instead. We will look for other creepy crawlies as planned, but also try making some mini ponds for fun and some nature art and fun with trees.

Parking and Meeting: You may park for free in the Forestry Commission car park, located on Woodhead Road (on the left side as you go up the hill). If it’s full you may park on the main road, but do so safely. The Wildlife Trust Leader will meet you in that car park. We set off on our adventure as promptly as we can, so arrive on time so you're not left behind! Car park location The activities take place across the main road in Greno Woods in case you do arrive late.

Although we're in the woods, leave your dogs at home please.
