Women Against The Far Right

Tue 10 Feb 2026 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Showroom Cinema, S1 2BX

Join us for an evening of debate and discussion about how we unite the fights against misogyny, sexism and the far right. Additional information and speakers will be revealed soon!

Violence against women and girls is on the rise. 3,000 offences are recorded every day. One in 12 women experience violence every year. One woman is horrifically killed every week in the UK. Since 2024, violence against women has been declared as a national emergency.

The racist and sexist thugs of the far right, including Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage scapegoat those from minority backgrounds. They demonise refugees and asylum seekers in the name of 'defending women'.

But we know the far right pose a threat to women. Roughly 40 percent of racists arrested outside hostels in the summer of 2024 had been reported for domestic abuse. Scapegoating migrant communities only prevents us from tracking oppression rooted in a deeply unequal capitalist system and within patriarchal practices. The reality is that such violence is rife within all of our communities. It is fundamental that we address it, and take active measures to protect women.

The far right peddle the lie that they are “protecting” women as a way of controling them. Their racist and sexist poison only makes women less safe. Labour has shamefully collaborated with the far right in vicious attacks on refugees and migrants.

And it’s the same government that is attacking refugees, migrants and trans people - that is funding genocide in Gaza, Sudan and Congo, reigning bombs down on women and chlidren, making these countries the least safe place to be a woman or girl in the world. The UK’s continued diplomatic ties and arms sales to Israel, UAE and Rwanda prioritises profit over people, and means women’s bodies are exploited for resources. Mass sexual violence is used by rebel militia’s in Sudan and Congo at the convenience of western allies, and at the expense of innocent civilians.

The far right, the government and a number of women’s groups are also attacking trans women and girls following the Supreme Court Ruling. We are clear that trans women and girls are women and they are not a threat. Attacks on trans women and girls is an attack on all women and girls.

We need everyone united to fight the far right - women, men, trans+, non binary - all welcome to come build the campaign.
