The Solway Hoedown

A one of a kind Country Acoustic Festival Afternoon right here in Coastal Kippford.

We're bringing together expressive American instrumental tradition with soulful vocals and the rich musical spirit of Scotland. Think Texas fiddle, Scottish strums, lively harmonies and hopefully some sunshine!  This is where country charm meets coastal magic, and tartan meets Stetson. Bring yourself, your friends, your hats and your dancing boots :-)

Get your tickets now for this unique transatlantic collaboration featuring acclaimed International touring artists from Glasgow: Anton O'Donnell & Robyn Red, enigmatic Texas Fiddle player John Laufenberg, and local favourites, Newton Stewart Bluegrass band Gallowgrass. 

Gates open 2.15 pm. Live music until 6.30 pm. 

Afterparty until 11pm.

Please note this is a fully licenced event, and guests may not bring their own alcohol. Anyone breaching this will be asked to leave and have their ticket revoked. 

This will be a family friendly event and there is parking on site on a first come first served basis. Face painting and other craft & activity stalls will be on offer, and you can also come early for a round of golf at the short but challenging Cragieknowes course  (please book separately on arrival). Delicious burgers and more will be on sale with Smokies Food Truck right next to the clubhouse. Covered picnic-table seating is available for the first 70 people but cannot be booked in advance. Camping chairs, small event shelters (in the case of extreme weather) and blankets can be brought at no extra cost. Make yourselves at home!
