The Sherbino and Pickin' Productions proudly present An Evening with Jason Carter Band, featuring one of the most celebrated and accomplished fiddlers in modern bluegrass music.
With three Grammy Awards, five International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Fiddle Player of the Year honors, and more than three decades performing alongside bluegrass legends, Jason Carter has earned his place among the greats of American roots music. Now, he's bringing his extraordinary musicianship, unmistakable Kentucky sound, and infectious energy to The Sherbino for an intimate night of world-class bluegrass.
Born and raised in eastern Kentucky, Carter grew up surrounded by the rich musical traditions of Appalachia. His remarkable career began at a young age, eventually landing him a coveted spot with the legendary Del McCoury Band, where he has served as fiddler for more than 30 years. As a founding member of the Grammy-winning Travelin' McCourys, Carter has helped carry traditional bluegrass into exciting new territory, connecting generations of fans while remaining deeply rooted in the music that shaped him.
Along the way, Carter has collaborated with an extraordinary roster of artists, including Billy Strings, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill, Sarah Jarosz, and Charlie Daniels. His distinctive fiddle playing combines technical brilliance with the kind of soul, emotion, and spontaneity that can only come from a lifetime devoted to music.
With his solo project, Lowdown Hoedown, Carter steps further into the spotlight, showcasing not only his incredible fiddle playing but also his talents as a vocalist and bandleader. Blending driving bluegrass, heartfelt storytelling, and adventurous musical collaborations, the project reflects both his deep respect for tradition and his enthusiasm for where the music is headed.
Whether you're a lifelong bluegrass enthusiast, a fan of the Del McCoury Band and Travelin' McCourys, or simply someone who loves outstanding live musicianship, this is a show you won't want to miss.
Join us at The Sherbino on Thursday, April 15, for an evening of exceptional fiddling, spirited bluegrass, and the kind of musical connection that makes live performances unforgettable.
