This is event is free and open to the public. Lunch is provided. If you need additional support to attend, please communicate with Julia Leavitt by September 23.
Participants in the Engage Across the Ages Multi-Generational Panel Discussion will explore three questions:
- Which generation do you identify as?
- Who works with multiple generations? What are the pros and cons?
- How do you build connections between people from generations? What relevant stories do you want to share?
Who should attend Engage Across the Ages Multi-Generational Panel Discussion?
If you have questions like these about how to joyfully and thoughtfully get your work done with a workforce that spans three or more generations then this is the lunch and learn for you. Join us next month to hear from local speakers about how they work together to set aside assumptions and get intensely curious. In the process, they build thriving workplaces where people are comfortable to question their own assumptions, respond with grace to critical feedback and challenge each other to create more relevant and robust products and services.
Not sure yet if Engage Across the Ages Multi-Generational Panel Discussion is the right workshop for you?
- You will practice ways to suspend judgement and get intensely curious
- You will engage joyfully and generously in conversation with someone in a different age group than you.
Here is something for you to think about -
Which generation were you born into (through no fault of your own)? Which one do you identify with, if any?
Here are the Generations Defined with Names and Dates.
- The Greatest Generation (GI Generation): Born 1901–1927.
- The Silent Generation: Born 1928–1945.
- Baby Boom Generation: Born 1946–1964.
- Generation X: Born 1965–1980.
- Millennial Generation or Generation Y: Born 1981–1996.
- Generation Z or iGen: Born 1997–2010
- Generation Alpha from 2010 to 2024 Here is more food for thought about working in multi-generational workplaces.
