⭕️ Mastering your BDSM skills, in and out of RopePlay ⭕️ Power Dynamic Awareness and Conscious D/s

Shibari Studio Berlin is honoured to host a guest workshop facilitated by In_Di_Go from Basel, Switzerland.

On April 12th and 13th right before the EURIX opening, we will look at power dynamics as an inherent component of Shibari/Kinbaku play, and further on, in life itself on an everyday basis. You are invited to playfully approach and gently broaden your understanding, knowledge and wisdom around hierarchy, power dynamics and their effect on life, society and in your rope-play.

Guided by gender-nonconforming, neurodiverse kink educator In.Di.Go, you will explore and expand your awareness on the psychological mechanisms and application strategies of power and compliance in more depth and detail, both in life and play. Also, you’ll get the chance to look at their impact through a queer and neurodiverse lens, and learn how to create the scene you want by consciously choosing the tools, techniques and approach you’ll discover through the course of this weekend.

Leonie (she/her) will contribute to the workshop in the Bottom role and share important, valuable insights on the workshop topics and their allegedly political and cultural justification from the perspective of a young, white cis woman.

Additionally you will be given time and space to use the techniques taught in the class to explore and play in your own depth at the exclusive play party followed after the workshop.

The number of participants is very limited, max. 5 couples / duos peer day, to ensure an intimate and safe space where we can deepen the topics and practices. Therefore we host this event on two days, choose what day suits you best!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

• This workshop is for anyone looking to deepen their skills playing with power dynamics—whether you’re a beginner or an experienced BDSM or Shibari practitioner. You’ll learn practical techniques to integrate the dynamics of power and submission into your session, with or without ropes.
• The techniques covered in this workshop are highly adaptable and can be applied across all aspects of BDSM, intimacy, and physical human interaction. Even those who aren’t primarily drawn to rope will find valuable insights to take away.
• If you feel a genuine pull towards what you just read, and you feel the desire to enrich your view on life in that manner and context, this event is for you.
• In case you felt a discomfort that has a rejecting quality to it, take that discomfort with you. Work with it. Track it. And marvel at where it’ll take you.

This is not a walk-in event, but only possible with a binding ticket booking and a received confirmation email. You must come as a duo, but not necessarily as a couple. We recommend a very movement-friendly, playful outfit. Bring your own ropes (if your have some) and favourite toys. Workshop in English and German.

In response to many current developments in the world, this event is a clear statement of our pro DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) attitude, and one of the many necessary peaceful contributions to bring balance and harmony into this our world, and to raise awareness on how power manipulates all of us.

FACILITATORS

In_Di_Go is a queer owned kink education start-up from Basel (Switzerland), founded by David (none / they) in 2024 and blends a professional, certified training in psychology with years of practical experience in bodywork and communal engagement in their local BDSM scene, as well as a strong dedication to spiritual traditions and the wisdom they hold for us. As a gender-nonconforming and neurodiverse person, they emphasise the importance of, advocate for and work on spreading a decolonised state of being and the expansion of perspectives on life and our many roles in it in order to co-create and realize a world characterised by cooperation, community and mutual care.

Leonie (she/her) is an intersectional queer feminist who advocates for and engages in activism for ethical polyamory, veganism and ethical kink.
