Sensual Rope & Intimate Play: Touch, Tension & Desire
• 4 hours • max 4 couples • €170 per couple • English & German
Level 2: The next Level of our Workshop series for couples.
Are you looking to explore deeper? Join our s*-positive and kink-friendly space.
This workshop shows you how to use rope for exposure, positioning, and support, unlocking more access, more intensity and more ways to play.

INTRODUCTION
Shibari (and bondage in general) can make pleasure feel unusually intense — not because of “magic knots”, but because of what it does to attention and the nervous system. When your body is held and movement is limited, the mind narrows in: touch gets louder, anticipation stretches, and small sensations become big.
Add trust, clear consent, and a little edge, and the body can release a potent mix of adrenaline, endorphins, dopamine, and bonding hormones — the chemistry behind that “rope high” feeling of intensity and connection.
In this workshop, we’ll use that on purpose: slow down, build tension, and explore rope as a sensual language — with choice, safety, and at your pace.
THE INVITATION
We explore the sensual application of rope — not for performance aesthetics, but for real-world intimacy.
This workshop is sex-positive and kink-friendly, created for partners who want to use rope to support sensual interaction: exposing, leveraging, positioning, supporting, and holding bodies in ways that create more ease, more intensity, and more options for erotic play.
It’s about how you touch, how you lead, how you listen — and how rope becomes an extension of your presence. You’re not only learning “ties”. You’re learning a new kind of communication, where small choices can change everything.
Sexual contact is optional.
You’re welcome to explore softly clothed, in lingerie, or partially / fully undressed — you choose together. We hold a sex-positive space where you can feel safe to play and explore.
Think of rope as a shared experience: a slow, erotic exchange between partners. A chance to build anticipation, play with power, and create a wordless story of excitement together.
WHAT WE’LL WORK ON
- Tease, grind & friction play — using rhythm and timing to build anticipation
- The art of the pause — letting desire rise before the next move
- Exposure + intense touch — hands, mouth, and full-body contact
- Toys, toys, toys — how to integrate them into stable, useful positions (pls. bring your own)
- Distance as stimulation — approaching without contact, withdrawing, shifting tempo to intensify
WHO THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR
- Couples/duos who already have a sexual or play-based relationship
- People who joined our Level 1 and look for the next intensity
- All orientations, genders, and body constellations welcome
CONSENT, BOUNDARIES & AFTERCARE
Before every exercise, you’ll check in with your partner:
- what you want to explore
- what’s off-limits today
- what to do if something shifts mid-way
- what kind of aftercare supports you best
We’ll close with downshift + integration, so you don’t walk out raw or scrambled. If you choose to hold the energy rather than release, we’ll offer tantric breath and touch practices to support that.
This is an intimacy-focused space — not a spectator event. Feel free to enter the sexually charged atmosphere, but keep your attention on the partner you came with.
REQUIRED
This is not a rope-basics workshop.
You should:
- come with a partner you already know and have explored intimacy/play with
- feel able to talk about desires, limits, and care needs
- be comfortable in a space where others may choose to explore sexual contact
Rope skills required:
- confident single-column + hitch, double hitch / lock off ties (Level 1 tools)
- enough experience to stay present and make solid safety decisions in the moment
WHAT TO BRING
Along with your rope (or you can buy ropes or lend ropes for a 10€ cleaning fee):
- blanket or sheet for your mat
- barriers + lube / massage oil, if you might want them (condoms, gloves, etc.)
- clothing / vibe: We aim for a very intimate and sensual atmosphere in the room. We recommend wearing underwear, lingerie, bodysuits — anything that makes you feel good and sensual. A sarong or kimono to cover up a bit in the beginning is totally fine.
Optional extras:
- toys (dildos, vibrators, etc.)
LAST NOTES
The number of participants is strictly limited to a maximum of 4 couples/duos. This is not a walk-in event — attendance is only possible with a binding ticket purchase and confirmation email.
The workshop is held in both German and English.

About Shibari Studio Berlin & the Instructor:
Shibari Studio Berlin is a dedicated space for Shibari workshops, Tantric-Shibari experiences, and private sessions in Berlin, founded in 2024 by multidisciplinary artist Dan Carabas.
The studio’s work focuses on intentional rope practice, embodied connection, and conscious intimacy, using Shibari and Kinbaku as tools for presence, communication, and trust. Experiences are designed for couples, individuals, and artists seeking a grounded, refined approach to rope — beyond technique or performance.
Dan Carabas has worked with Shibari and rope-based practices for over a decade alongside his internationally exhibited art project Metamorphic Sculptures. His teaching approach, often described as “the art of Shibari with intention,” emphasizes intimacy, awareness, and relational depth through rope.
