Shibari Exploration Evening 🪢🔥
You are invited for the second Shibari Exploration Evening in a wonderful, new location in Berlin! 🤗💫
There will be a full Shibari Beginner Workshop by two experienced facilitators and a Shibari Jam for more experienced people (feel free to select the according ticket option).
Workshop:
The Beginner Workshop is an introductory workshop giving you the perfect starting point to learn to tie with emotional connection. It starts with the very minimal technical fundamental to tie, a single column tie. You’ll learn how to use tensions and countertensions as further building blocks and then quickly go into exploration of how to tie another person with emotions. The particular focus will be on how to enable your tying partner to trust and surrender. How to manage your own attention while tying, pay attention to small, impactful details and reach beautiful trance states with each other. 🤯
You'll learn how to play with different dimensions such as speed, intensity and distance to make the tying session a conversation between you and your partner. You'll quickly get to a point where you can find the confidence to explore and improvise by yourself. ✨
Jam:
The Jam will be free flowing open practice for advanced people with wonderful background music and small, atmospheric light shows. There’s at least six suspension and instructors are happy to support, give inspiration or input. 🔮💫
Further info:
You can come by yourself or with a tying partner. Everyone will have the opportunity to explore tying dynamics with different people and go through a facilitated process to find someone to tie with. You can of course stick with your own partner if desired. 👥
Ropes will be provided but if you have your own please bring them. 🪢
Looking forward to welcoming you to get a taste of the art of tying with emotion and exploration of trust. Or just to enjoy the jam at the fascinating atmospheric location. 🤗
About the facilitators:
Dan Carabas is known for his shibari art project METAMORPHIC SCULPTURES is an experienced shibari artist and photographer / film maker, working aesthetically with ropes for more than 8 years now. Based in Berlin, he recently founded @shibari.studio.berlin (IG) and started teaching what he calls “the art of shibari with intention”. A focused practice of tying your partner in an intimate and sensual way by building and holding a strong connection to your partner through the grip and tension of your ropes.
ShiYugen (Chris) is a rope artist deeply immersed in the Berlin Shibari scene and known for a unique, very emotion-focused tying style. The art of tying beautifully integrates his deeply rational side as an engineer and his passionate, emotional side of human connection and creative flow. His interpretation of Shibari has elements of dance, massage, meditative trance states and deep human trust. He enjoys focusing on the human elements and very basic principles such as friction without being dogmatic about a specific school or type. He thoroughly enjoys giving workshops to awaken the spark of passion for ropes in others. It fills him with true joy to witness other people getting a glimpse of how ropes can help us connect to others and ourselves.
About the space:
Studio dB is a new hot spot in the Berlin rope scene, providing not only a fantastic large space but also enhancing it with fantastic light and sound, creating a magic atmosphere for your shibari practice and jam session.
