At Sholach we are passionate about our Christmas trees. A passion that goes back nearly 30 years and we take great pride in growing, caring, and readying our trees for the festive season. Set in the stunning countryside of Eastern Perthshire our Christmas trees are grown around one of the many lochs in the Lunan Valley an area known for its wildlife, rich farmland, local food production, and impressive scenery. Pick your own tree
Our farm Sholach is derived from the Gaelic ‘sòlach’ which means ‘highly delighted/ really happy. And this is what we think you will be when you visit our Christmas tree farm to choose your tree. Indulge in the great Scottish outdoors, I mean we are next to a loch, you can have a walk, the bairns can run through the trees and have a wee adventure and, bring the dug if you have one and enjoy.
We can cut your chosen tree there and then to take home with you or you can mark it and we will deliver it nearer to Christmas. We deliver certain days in different areas but we will give you all the details.
Please dress for all Scottish weather eventualities. I’ve seen us bask in the sun, traverse through mud, fight horizontal rain, crunch across crispy frozen grass and need satellite navigation to find our way back through the mist.
We mainly grow the family favourite Nordmann fir as everyone loves their needle retention. We also have some Norway spruce, blue spruce and Noble fir.
Sholach is a very much a family run business with us all chipping in. Willie is the business head and chief gaffer, Kelly tries her best to do social media and marketing, Jean does the books with both kicking up a Christmas storm in the foliage department. You'll also find Sam, Craig, Conall, Aunty Av and various other family members and friends around at the busy harvest time.
