Showstopper - Comedy Songs Workshop
Sun 1 Dec 2024 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Jacksons Lane Arts Centre, N6 5AA
Description
What makes a great comedy song? How do we deliver when the pressure is on to be funny on the spot - in song?
Each class is tailored to who is in the room, working at your level AND the group capacity. Individual notes, team games and group songs will send you on your way, singing made-up songs with the confidence of a ridiculous clown. We will look at both long and short-form songs, the power of the rhyme and how strong character choices can drive the comedy.
We will work from 10.30am to 5pm with an hour for lunch in the middle.
This class is for people with improvisational experience who are already confident in improvising songs.
Class led by Pippa Evans with Musical Director, Duncan Walsh Atkins.
Cost : £110
Venue : Jacksons Lane Arts Centre, 269a Archway Road, London N6 5AA
Pippa Evans is an original member of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and has taught workshops in musical improvisation across the globe, including at the inaugural Remix Festival, Edinburgh. She is the author of Improv Your Life and appears as a guest with The Comedy Store Players. She lives in Edinburgh with her little family.
