Zoological Club at Shuttleworth College

Zoological Club 

A great opportunity to experience zookeeping at the ZEC, allowing you to get a taste of what animal care is all about. These sessions are ideal for learners who want to work with animals in the future and will give you an insight into what our courses offer.


The Details:
It is a set of taster sessions aimed at 12 - 16 years old which can be booked individually or all 4 in one.

Cost: £40 for one session.

Requirements: All participants to bring packed lunch and wellies. Please wear clothes that can get messy, our animals do not respect nice clothes!

Clothing:

• No shorts are allowed.
• In warm weather, children may wear lightweight trousers, either 3/4 length or full length.
• Footwear: Please provide wellies or a pair of old, closed-toe shoes that your child doesn't mind getting dirty. Open-toed shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

Lunches:

• Please ensure your child’s lunch is completely nut-free. We have children with serious nut allergies, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.

*** Important Update: Zoo Club Drop-Off Location Change Saturday 28th June ***

Due to a major event being held by the Shuttleworth Trust on the same day as our Zoo Club; Saturday 28 June, we have been advised that there may be significant queuing delays at the usual drop-off location. To ensure a smooth start to the day, we kindly ask that you drop off your child at Kingshill Farm (Shuttleworth College Farm, SG18 9DS ) at 9:30 AM instead.

Your child will be collected from Kingshill Farm and taken to the Zoo & Education Centre (ZEC). Collection at 3:00 PM will remain unchanged at the usual ZEC entrance.

Please note this change is only for Saturday 28 June drop off, and all other Zoo Clubs remain unaffected and drop off is at the ZEC.
