The Ham is our main concert marquee venue, programmed with three top drawer headline concerts each day at the festival. The centrepiece for festival concerts, The Ham is close to Port Royal at the eastern end of the Esplanade. The Ham provides a comfortable seated-venue for three first class concerts each day – lunchtime, afternoon and evening.

Helping us to celebrate 70 years of Sidmouth is prolific songwriter and virtuoso guitar player, Ralph McTell, who has been entertaining audiences for more than 50 years. Best known for his Ivor Novello Award winning ‘Streets of London’, Ralph McTell continues to delight us with his gift for great storytelling through song.

This one will be a sell-out. 2024 sees the start of the last ever tour by this phenomenal band, after 45 years on the road. Winners of multiple BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, Oysterband bring poignant song-writing, passionate music and contagious energy to the Ham stage.

Named as one of the Top Ten Folk Voices of the Century, a Mercury Prize Winner, and a 6 times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner, Kate Rusby needs little introduction. If you’ve never seen her live, expect a warm Yorkshire sense of humour in addition to distinctive vocals and musical accompaniment from her talented band.
Friday 9th August – 7.30pm - O'Hooley & Tidow + Angeline Morrison & the Sorrow Songs Band

Described by the Independent as ‘defiant, robust, northern, poetical, political folk music for the times we live in.’, O’Hooley & Tidow require little further introduction. Known for their exceptional songwriting and close harmonies, they were gracing festival stages long before they were thrust into the limelight for penning the theme tune to TV drama, Gentleman Jack. We look forward to welcoming them back.
Folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Angeline Morrison is joined by Cohen BraithwaiteKilcoyne, Hamilton Gross and Clarke Camilleri, bringing us music from their award winning album, ‘The Sorrow Songs:
Folk Songs of Black British Experience’.

· This is available to a ticket buying person requiring assistance to attend the festival.
· Tickets can be booked online and in order to qualify you will need to provide the box office/door staff at the festival with one of the following when collecting your season tickets or using your e-tickets:
- Front page of DLA / PIP award letter (no specific rate)
- Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate)
- Evidence that registered severely sight impaired (blind)
- Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
· The qualifying documentation must be an original and current as of the dates of the festival.
· All Personal Assistants should be aged 18+ years.
· If special requirements exist, such as positioning of a wheelchair, it is the ticket holder’s responsibility to contact the venue management early to make sure that their requirements are known. Venue stewards will do their best to accommodate all such requests.
