3-Day Halloween Film School: ages 10 -17

Using cameras, props, sets and professional software, you’ll learn how to turn your imagination into a spooky Halloween-themed short film from start to finish over three exciting days.

Participants will work in groups as a team to develop their film project, exploring eerie storytelling, visual style and hands-on production techniques. Guided by experienced tutors, you’ll experiment with equipment, plan your scenes, share roles and responsibilities, shoot your footage and edit it into a haunting finished film you can be proud of.

You will learn:
• How to plan and develop a Halloween-themed story for the screen
• The basics of filming, including camera angles and shot composition
• How to use cameras, lighting and simple editing software
• Set design, props and creating spooky visual effects
• Teamwork, communication and collaborative project planning
• Problem-solving, focus and time management skills

By the end of the three days, you’ll have created a Halloween-themed short film as part of a team and gained a strong understanding of the filmmaking process.
