About the Evening

The Sikhs in Law Association cordially invites members of the legal profession, supporters, and guests to our event of the year: Bandi Chhor Divas Celebrations and Awards Ceremony.

Hosted at the iconic St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, London, this prestigious evening brings together over 100 distinguished practitioners, members of the judiciary, legal scholars, students, and community champions to celebrate freedom, justice, and outstanding achievement across the legal sector.

Bandi Chhor Divas commemorates the release of the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, who negotiated freedom for himself and 52 wrongfully imprisoned kings - a historic testament to advocacy, selfless leadership, human rights, and liberty. In this spirit, we gather to honour those in our contemporary legal community who use their knowledge and dedication to uphold justice, empower the vulnerable, and champion diversity.
