What is Nordic Walking?
Walking using specially designed poles which helps use 95% of your muscles whilst walking, improves posture and increases cardiovascular without impact on joints. If you can walk, you can Nordic Walking!
Important - if you need the instructor to provide poles:
For those who need to borrow poles it is essential that you sign up to the sessions beforehand so instructors know how many sets of poles they will need, this will help avoid any disappointment.
Please turn up at least 20 minutes before the session so that everyone can catch up beforehand and enjoy a full session - especially those who need to be set up with poles. Nordic Walk instructors will not normally delay the session for latecomers.
Advice from instructors
During inclement weather it may be useful to think about wearing layers of clothing, that you can take on & off if the weather changes during the walk (e.g. a light waterproof jacket when it rains).
Also please bring water in warmer weather, and wear walking shoes or boots suitable for wet and uneven terrain.
