Open Mic @ The Yard

A new acoustic open mic night is bringing live local music to The Yard - by Silver Oak in Ely, hosted by Cambridgeshire singer-songwriter Elliot Porter. 

The event is designed as a relaxed, community-focused evening for acoustic performers, poets, songwriters and music fans, continuing the venue’s growing reputation as one of Ely’s liveliest creative spaces. 

Set among The Yard’s converted shipping-container bars, coffee spaces and covered courtyard seating, the open mic aims to showcase emerging local talent alongside more established folk and acoustic acts from the region. The venue already hosts comedy, live entertainment and community events, making it a natural fit for intimate live music nights. 

Porter has previously organised acoustic showcase events and open mic sessions around Cambridge, including “The Tram Sessions,” which mixed floor spots with featured headline performers and encouraged original songwriting in an informal atmosphere. 

The new night is expected to welcome solo performers, duos and spoke word artists with audiences able to enjoy street food, cocktails and speciality coffee while listening to live acoustic sets.

There is no amplification on this night.
