This club is only open to children attending Pyrford C of E Primary, and are in years 1 to 6

Pick up is 4.15pm sharp, from the Environmental Garden gates. 

It is paramount that your child has the correct clothing on to participate in Forest School, please keep an eye out on the weather forecast and pack the appropriate clothing for the weather. 

Full waterproofs are a must, along with wellies!

Please provide your child with a named water bottle and healthy snack, NO NUTS please. We may provide Hot Chocolate in the colder months, along with either Marshmallows, S'mores or Popcorn. Please tell us about any allergies your child has when you fill out the booking form.

Silverwoods Forest School holds Full Public Liability Insurance up to £5 million pounds. All our sessions are always run by a qualified Forest School Practitioner Level 3 who are Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid Trained, DBS Checked, TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values (RQF) and have a Level 2 Award in Food Safety. They are also experienced in working with children in an outdoor environment. All Forest School Assistants are DBS checked and hold a Level 2 in Safeguarding Children & Young Adults Certificate (POCA)

CLOTHING & KIT LIST

Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Alfred Wainwright: “there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing”

Kit list - for colder weather: 

  • Thermal base layer – leggings, long sleeved top, and long thermal socks
  • Spare socks
  • A thinner long-sleeved top
  • A warm fleece/wool long sleeved top
  • Cosy trousers i.e.. Tracksuit pants (not jeans)
  • Waterproof Trousers (the kids will get muddy)
  • Warm waterproof coat/jacket
  • Two pairs of gloves or mittens (one waterproof)
  • Warm hat and snood
  • Neoprene or fleece lined wellies or waterproof walking boots
  • Water bottle filled up, labelled with child’s name
  • Healthy Snack - No Nuts

Kit list – for warmer weather:

  • Long trousers (these are still a necessity to prevent scratches and stings)
  • Long sleeved top (to prevent, stings, bites, and scratches)
  • Jumper (as it can be cool at the beginning of the day)
  • Waterproof Jacket
  • Waterproof Trousers (British Weather, so be prepared for it to rain in the warmer months)
  • Water bottle filled up, labelled with child’s name
  • Sun cream/Insect repellent (to be applied at home)
  • A sun hat
  • If you feel your child needs insect repellent, please apply at home
  • Wellington boots or waterproof walking boots

Please make sure that all your child’s entire kit is labelled with their name on.

About Your Forest School Leader

Hi, I’m Victoria - Founder of Silverwoods Forest School and mum to my happy, confident boy, Sterling. I’m creative, passionate, and absolutely love inspiring children to connect with nature, build confidence, and enjoy the simple things in life. I’m a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner, Outdoor First Aid trained, fully insured (£5 million Public Liability), DBS checked, and qualified in Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and Food Safety. I work with several nurseries and schools across Surrey and West Sussex and have experience supporting children with SEND.

Our Woodland Site

I also run Children’s Woodland Parties from my private one and a half-acre woodland site at The Weald C of E Primary School in Beare Green, Dorking.

What We Do at Forest School

Forest School offers children the freedom to explore, learn and play outdoors in all seasons. Sessions are child-led, creative and confidence-building.

Activities may include:

• Fire lighting

• Campfire cooking

• Tool use

• Den building

• Woodland arts and crafts

• Team games

• Bug hunting

• Nature identification

• Land art and mandalas


Terms and Conditions

Ages

Forest School is suitable for children aged 4–12 years (age ranges may vary by school).

Bookings

Places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bookings are made per half-term or full term.

Drop-in or single sessions are not available.

Session dates usually follow school term dates.

Payments 

Bookings must be paid for via Ticket Tailor (secured by Stripe).

A child’s place is confirmed only once payment is received.

Payments must be made in full before sessions begin.

No refunds for non-attendance or changes in circumstances.

Refunds and Cancellations

Sessions may be cancelled if winds exceed 42 mph or in thunderstorms/lightning.

Notification will be sent by 5 pm the day before.

Refunds are not given for weather cancellations, illness or unsuitable clothing.

If Silverwoods must cancel due to staffing/sickness, a credit or reschedule will be offered.

Clothing

Children must wear appropriate outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear (no Crocs, sandals or flip-flops).

All items must be clearly labelled.

Food

Please pack a nut-free snack and a labelled water bottle.

For holiday camps, a nut-free packed lunch is required.

We operate a strict No Nuts Policy.

Illness

Children must not attend if they have a fever, temperature or have vomited/had diarrhoea in the past 48 hours.

Please notify us of absence.

Safety and Behaviour

Children must follow adult guidance to stay safe.

Persistent unsafe behaviour may result in a child being unable to continue (no refunds).

Communication

If you are running late for pick-up, please call or text.

Parents may take photos of their own child only.
