Cyanotype for All - Photo Edition

What if you could paint with the sun — using your own photo?

Cyanotype is one of the most magical alternative printing processes out there, and in this session you'll take it one step further. Your chosen image is printed onto transparency film and contact-printed onto sun-sensitive paper, creating a stunning Prussian blue artwork that is entirely one of a kind.

What's included:

• One photo cyanotype print (your image, prepared in advance) or use one of the artists' images during class
• One botanical/object arrangement print
• All materials provided

Don't worry about Colorado weather - we'll use UV lamps if the sun is hiding.

No experience needed. Open to ages 8 and up. Just bring yourself and a sense of curiosity!

Important:

Please email your photo to monika@simple.supply at least 4 days before your class date. Artist Alison will prepare your transparency so you're ready to print when you arrive.

Alison Reid is an interdisciplinary artist and Colorado native. She works out of Leadville and her darkroom in Minturn. Photography has been a passion for Alison since childhood, developing into a love for analog and alternative processes along the way. When she's not photographing the town dogs and zooming in on the tiny plants growing from the forest floor, she's exploring shape, form, and concepts through drawing and cyanotype printing.
