Olympic weightlifting seminar run by Zack Telander - all levels welcome!
The seminar is a very practical course catering to all abilities of coach and athlete. We go right back to basics, covering drills and techniques for both the snatch and the clean and jerk before putting it all together.
The seminar will run as follows:
Section one: Bottom Positions and Deep Squat
- Full warm up - (10 mins)
- Specific warm up and mobility - (10 mins)
- Barbell Drills - (10 mins)
- Full Depth Squatting and Overhead Squatting - (5 mins)
Section two: The Snatch
- Barbell Drills (fundamentals of the pull) - (10 mins)
- Barbell Drills/Variants (snatch specific) - (5 mins)
- Snatching (20 mins)
15 minute Break
Section three: The Clean
- Barbell Drills (fundamentals of the pull) - (10 mins)
- Barbell Drills/Variants (clean specific) - (5 mins)
Section four: The Split Jerk
- Barbell Drills (fundamentals of footwork) (15 mins)
- Barbell Drills/Variants (split jerk specific) (5 mins)
- Clean and Jerking (20 mins)
What to bring:
Lifters, spare change of clothes (if you like!), water and snacks!
