Conversing with the Ghazal is a practical, generative workshop for absolute beginners and seasoned writers alike that shares two complementary perspectives.

Gita Ralleigh shares techniques for writing both traditional and contemporary ghazals, drawing on the work of poets such as Agha Shahid Ali, Mona Arshi and Zeina Hashem Beck.

Rishika Williams shares the analytical tools she has developed to explore the choices the form presents.

Together they discuss the cultural beliefs embedded in the form, exploring order, repetition and meaning.

The workshop fee includes a signed copy of Gita Ralleigh's new pamphlet Empirical (The Braag, RRP £7.50).

Participants are invited to stay afterwards for the book launch celebration.
