How to become a Single Friendly Church
Join us for a workshop on becoming a Single Friendly Church. 40% of UK adults are single, but research shows they don’t always feel welcome in church. In this session we'll explore how welcoming single people can grow and enrich your whole church community - and we'll share practical ideas on how to do this.
Thursday 8th August, 2pm - 4pm
Morningside United Church
15 Chamberlain Road
Morningside, Edinburgh
EH10 4DJ
We'll be discussing:
- Know your Community: Who is single in our communities?
- Messaging: How to adapt church language to ensure everyone feels valued
- Welcome and Belonging: How to welcome and include people coming on their own
- Teaching: How to ensure teaching is relevant for everyone
- Leadership: How and why to include single people in leadership positions
About Single Friendly Church Network
Single Friendly Church Network is a charity on a mission to encourage all churches to welcome and value single adults at every stage of life. After research from 3,000 single Christians showed many felt misunderstood or invisible in Church, SFCN was set up to help churches change the narrative. We provide resources and training so that all churches can be welcoming communities where everyone can flourish. More information can be found on our website.
