We are thrilled to announce the 2nd annual SING! Edmonton festival, May 23-26 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta! This exciting new event is a partnership with the highly successful SING! Toronto festival. We can't wait to help build the joy of a cappella music in our city!
On May 24th, join us at Allard Hall (11110 104 Ave NW) at 7:30pm to see performances by local groups 6 Minute Warning & Apocalypse Kow.
On May 25th, join us at Freemasons Hall (10318 100 Ave NW) at 7pm to see The Heebee-jeebees take the stage.
On May 26th, join us at Freemasons Hall (10318 100 Ave NW) at 2pm, groups TBD!

Workshops and Education
But the fun doesn't stop there! In addition to the performances, SING! Edmonton will also offer a range of workshops and educational opportunities. Workshops will cover a wide range of topics, from vocal techniques and arranging to stage presence and group dynamics, and will be led by experienced professionals and educators. These workshops will provide valuable insights and skills for aspiring a cappella singers and group leaders.
May 25th Workshops: Allard Hall (11110 104 Ave NW)
- 10:00 am: "Fine-Tuning Your On-Stage Personality" with Apocalypse Kow - Enhance your connection with the audience by authentically presenting yourself on stage.
- 11:15 am: "Not So Basic Vocals" with Jessica Wagner - Unlock the potential of your voice, learning about its fluid dynamics to improve tone clarity, breath control, and longevity.
- 12:30 pm: LUNCH / A Cappella Short Film Screening - Enjoy a selection of short films featuring acappella music, providing both entertainment and inspiration.
- 1:30 pm: "Owning the Stage: Soloist Mentality" with Bernard Quilala - Discover the "it factor" that transforms talented musicians into captivating performers.
- 2:45 pm: "From the Beatginning: Beatboxing Basics for Vocal Ensembles" with Brett Ludwig - Elevate your group's rhythm section with fundamental beatboxing techniques.
- 4:00 pm: "Vocal Arranging for Choirs/Groups" with Jane Berry - Craft your own arrangements or adapt existing pieces in this interactive session tailored for arrangers and educators.
Throughout the festival, the emphasis will be on collaboration, sharing, and education. The goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where attendees can connect with other a cappella enthusiasts, share their experiences and knowledge, and learn from one another.
Performances on Friday and Saturday will include a silent auction, and a cash bar will be available.
