SKDC Boot Camp XXVII - La Danse des Vampires
Get ready for a fang-tastic good time in this high-energy jazz dance class, inspired by classic chorus girls and a classic horror icon.
Boot Camps are back! We can't wait to invite you in… to La Danse des Vampires! We enjoyed dancing this from our coffins at home during the pandemic and are excited to bring it to the dance floor together for the first time. Get ready for some fang-tastic cape-ography!

Over the course of 4 weeks, you will:
- Learn an original choreography, choreographed by a Sister Kate dancer
- Work on performance presence on stage
- Connect with other eager and enthusiastic dancers in town
- Perform the routine (in person unless Covid safety dictates otherwise) in front of a live audience
WHO IS INVITED
Anyone (18+) who is happy to wear the “team costume” is WELCOME to take part; all genders welcome, you only need to wear the team costume as planned for everyone!

Classes are at the Russian Community Center of Seattle on Capitol Hill (side ballroom)

CLASS DATES & TIMES
- Wednesday, Sept. 30th: 7:30-9:00pm (PST)
- Wednesdays, Oct 7, 14, 21: 8:00-9:00pm (PST)
STUDENT PERFORMANCE
- Wednesday, Oct 28th at Swing It Seattle's dance (at the South Park Hall, just south of Georgetown/SODO area), timing approximately 9:00 pm, call time 8:30 pm.
COST
$99 per dancer, for 4.5+ hours of instruction, performance prep, performance coordination, performance video, and additional review material after class.
- We have Sliding Scale Tickets available for those that would like to take the class but are restricted by financial limitations.
- Pre-registration for this class is REQUIRED for attendance.
WHAT WILL I WEAR?
DURING CLASSES
Wear anything comfy that you can move and sweat in. We recommend that you wear the shoes you will perform in so you are accustomed to how they will feel.
- Please plan to spend around $25-35 on costume items. Reach out if you need any sort of additional financial support to make that happen.
PERFORMANCE
Students will be asked to wear a black top and black bottoms, preferably sticking to a knee length skirt (or shorter), skorts, or shorts. Or a black leotard.
You will also need to purchase a floor length cape with a high neck collar. (Like this one)
Shoes: We also ask that all students wear some sort of black t-strap character shoe heel. We recommend either Bloch brand or Capezio (1.5-2" is best). If you have wider feet, we recommend the Bloch, as the leather is very soft. The good news is that we wear these shoes for 99% of our boot camps, so it really is a one time investment.
