Sisters Salon will be travelling to London and marching in solidarity with Million Women Rise.  We warmly invite you, or your organisation to travel with us!

Million Women Rise is a Black led, Black centered, women-only march. Challenging male violence and misogynoir the march ends in Trafalgar Square with a powerful and moving rally. An essential in the feminist calendar, Million Women Rise will change you forever.

TRAVEL DETAILS

We will be travelling on the 11.14 train from Brighton Station to London Bridge, then by tube to the assembly point near Oxford Street. We will meet at Brighton Station at 11am - look out for our flag!

Please buy your own train ticket - we recommend a Thameslink travelcard.

FREE TRAVEL for women with no income: If you are an asylum seeker or a woman with no access to benefits in the UK, please select the Free ticket option and we will pay for your travel to and from the march.

• If you would like to steward the march please contact Million Women Rise via their website. Members of Sisters Salon have stewarded Million Women Rise previously, so if you have any questions about it, do get in touch.
• Children are welcome, but Million Women Rise ask for older male children to show solidarity by walking alongside the march. 
• If you have mobility issues a bus travels alongside the march. Get in touch for more information.

About us........

On the THIRD SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH we invite women* to join us in our woman-only space to share their experiences and insights. We sit in a circle, as each woman is equal. Every woman is welcome to speak and listen. Yes, we have cake.

Tickets are free, but please donate to help us cover the costs of the venue, the cost of the creche & teas & coffees. Only donate if you can comfortably afford to do so. There is a card reader at the meeting too.

Our creche is FREE! Please book by midnight on 18th September so we can plan the play space. Do let us know of any additional needs they have. If a creche environment is not appropriate for your child, we will happily pay their regular care worker to have them for the duration to enable you to join us.

*We have a single-sex policy. Strictly women-only- women registered female at birth. Women registered female at birth who express a trans or non-binary identity are welcome. If you were registered male at birth we are happy to signpost you to a variety of similar groups (scroll down)

Many of our topics can trigger disclosures of sexual & domestic abuse. Women often talk about difficult and personal issues. We hold this space to enable women to do this. Many have no other space in their lives dedicated to reflection in this way. To enable women to feel safe, centred and empowered to do this, all attendees enter into our community pledge; confidentiality, sensitivity, trust, respect and sisterhood.
