Join us at The City Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Cardiff for a festive evening of Christmas carols followed by mulled wine and mince pies raising vital funds for the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group.

Anthony Stuart Lloyd - Bass-Baritone

Anthony recently appeared on; Simon Cowell’s ‘Walk The Line’ on primetime ITV and the ‘Blinds’ of BBC1’s ‘The Voice’.
The 6ft 7 singing chef, initially graduated in Hospitality Management but swapped ‘a la carte’ for ‘a capella’ after winning the ‘Rhuban Glas’ at the Royal National Eisteddfod in Aberystwyth, and a Sir Geraint Evans Scholarship enabled Anthony to study at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in his home city of Cardiff, where he graduated with distinction.
Anthony has performed principal roles for; Welsh National Opera, The London Symphony Orchestra, Opéra National Capitole Toulouse, Freiburg Theater and La Fabrique Opéra Grenoble. His West End credits include; Lloyd Webber’s ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ on London’s famous Drury Lane, ‘Howard Keel – The Centennial Celebration’
at Live At Zédel, Piccadilly Circus and The London Palladium Production of ‘Scrooge – The Musical’ which toured the UK. On the concert platform Anthony has sung for; The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra in a Royal Command Performance of ‘A Concert Of Grand Opera’ in the presence of His Majesty Qaboos bin Said The Sultan of Oman, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Welsh Proms, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
National St John Ambulance Cymru Choir
The National St John Ambulance Cymru choir was founded in January 2024 to premiere the anthem of the International Order of St John, nationally at the Investiture and internationally at Grand Council, singing for St John representatives from all around the world. The choir is non-auditioned and comprises volunteers from right across the charity – current membership includes youth leaders, trainers, Board members and volunteer first aiders. The choir are a tightknit group that share a passion for singing with a deep commitment to the values and mission of St John, and they are proud to be a part of this carol service to support the St John Eye Hospital Group.
Cor Heol-y-March
Côr Heol y March was established in 2009. The choir won the coveted Children’s Choir of the World prize at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in 2014. In 2015, it was victorious in the grand final of the Côr Cymru (Choir of Wales) competition on S4C. In 2016 the choir participated in a performance of a major work, Cantata Memoria, by Welsh composer Sir Karl Jenkins to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster. In 2018, at the International Choir Festival of Wales held in Cardiff, after winning the Young Voices category, the choir went on to win the main prize, the Sir Karl Jenkins Trophy, in the Choir of Choirs competition. In 2022, it won the Youth Category in S4C’s choir competition Côr Cymru. In June 2023, the choir successfully launched its second CD ‘Gwahoddiad’, and, a few weeks later, at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, was successful at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, winning the Children’s Folk Choir Competition. This year, at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, the choir won the Youth Choir Category under 25 years.
