It's that special time of year when we gather to not only celebrate our achievements but also to delve into insightful discussions that lead the way for the future of Slow Food Edinburgh.

This year, our focus revolves around the transformative power of gardens in shaping our eating habits and contributing to a sustainable environment. We've invited exceptional guest speakers who will share their expertise and experiences:

  • Dr.Colucci-Gray from Edinburgh University will introduce us to a team research on Food activism in the School Yard. Learn about the impactful project conducted in collaboration with leading Scottish Universities, aiming to empower practitioners in schools to engage with food as a central dimension in the lives of young people.
  • Tom Kirby and Lisa Houston from Granton Community Gardeners will take us on a journey through their remarkable community gardening project. Discover how this initiative has blossomed into a local charity, fostering community gatherings, educational sessions, and innovative projects like a bakery and a chicken co-op.

Leith Community Croft will share insights into the concept of urban crofts and their role in empowering communities to actively participate in shaping local environments and food systems.

After the discussions, we will invite you to join us for a delightful reception featuring mouthwatering food and drinks made from the produce of Leith Community Croft.

The event is open to members and non members curios to learn more about Slow Food and our activities.
