Slump Cinema Screens: Ikiru

Join us for our final screening of the year. Settling down into winter calls for reflection, slow movement and introspection and Ikiru is exactly what the doctor ordered. Set in post war Tokyo, we follow Mr Watanabe who works a monotonous bureaucratic job at the city council office. After finding out he has cancer, he sets out on a journey to understand the meaning of life and come to terms with his impending death. Faced with his own mortality, he begins to question the life he has lived and what it means to truly be alive.

This is possibly one of my favourite films ever made and it is such a privilege and an early Christmas treat to be sharing it with you this winter. We can’t wait to see you there 🫶🏼
